Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in General Purpose Motors
This is a product that is good with resistance loads (e.g. incandescent lights, heating elements) but would not work as designed when I hooked it up to an asynchronous induction motor. The motor turned at its normal speed regardless of the setting of the controller and I would suggest that the motor would be drawing a lot more amps at the lower setting of the controller, putting stress on both the motor and controller. My guess is that if you want it to work with an induction motor you will need to buy a specialised variable speed motor. Although listed as a "motor speed controller" you need to check the type of motor you want to use. For dimming incandescent lights (and presumably dimmable fluorescent lights), heating elements and other resistance loads, it works well For motors, you will need to be sure that the motor you intend to use is compatible. It was cheap (about the price of a normal light dimmer switch) so there's not much lost if it turns out to not work with your application.Read full review

Good variable speed control unit. Has a cooling fan which provides thermal protection of the components. My only criticism is the indicator label on the dial was fixed up side down.

It does not control motor speed on AC motor as stated in the description. Only good for dimming lights? Do more homework before purchasing. Cheap enough not to warrant return costs.
